Navigation simulators
Simulator for working out tasks of motion control of the
small landing hovercraft - SDV-2
The navigation simulator for working out tasks of motion
control of the small landing hovercraft
under IMO classification belongs to simulators for ship manoeuvring
and control. It is software-hardware complex based on personal
computers with the system of panoramic visualization.
The simulator
is designed for forming and development of the following expert
skills :
- Rudders and propulsion devices control including those
ensuring motio
n safety by preventing rate of angular motion
during manoeuvring, heel and drift angles exceeding permissible
limits
- Control of ship movement to selected course at leaving
and descending from the base area under various weather
conditions, safe manoeuvring within the base area under
extreme limitation of manoeuvring freedom, placing the ship
onto air cushion and its fitting on the water or on solid
ground
- Selection of reasonable methods of ship control in case
of breakdown of forcing devices during motion
- Identification of motion conditions where emergencies
can arise during manoeuvring and during acceleration up
to the speeds exceeding permissible speed, related to loss
of longitudinal and lateral stability caused by breaching
or damage of flexible railing of air cushion, reduction
of air consumption of forcing devices and performing actions
eliminating them
- Eye estimation of ambient water and radar conditions,
identification of ships motion elements
- Selection and fulfilment of manoeuvring of moving apart
with ships in the open sea and tight conditions at day and
night time as well as under conditions of low visibility
with use of RADAR/ARPA
- Skilful use of information received from RADAR/ARPA and
ECDIS
- Evaluation of accuracy of basic and secondary information
received from ARPA, consideration of facts influencing ARPA
accuracy and delay in forming secondary radar information
- Evaluation of navigation situation according to visual
observation at day time, according to the lights - at night
time and according to the observation of movement of echo
signals at PPI imitators under low visibility conditions
- Visual evaluation of the ship running conditions, their
manoeuvring capabilities and dimensions
- Ships navigation in hard navigation conditions at day
and night time and in low visibility conditions
- ECDIS use for preliminary and executive laying ship course,
training adequate reaction to the alarm signals produced
by ECDIS, solution of mapping tasks and accident prevention
involving information received from ECDIS
- Practical use of radio equipment and GMDSS procedures.
